Show (MWe turn le tellou bla The Associated Alumni of Weber College takes pleasure in joining with the student board of control and the Scribulus staff in bringing to all those who have attended Weber College or Weber Academy in the past and our many loyal friends this little publication. We have dedicated it to the building of a student union building on Weber’s new campus. Last year the Ogden Chamber of Commerce cooperated with the college and the alumni in a drive to acquire a new campus for Weber. This drive was very successful due to the generous response of the alumni and friends of the college. Ogden’s business men were most helpful. For all this we are very grateful. ; Now that the campus is secured, it is up to the State of Utah to provide funds for the erection of $250,000 appropriation An students. the of instruction and of buildings for the administration has already been given to the college for this purpose, and much more will be forthcoming in the future. But the present students and alumni of the college have joined forces to provide funds to erect a student union building to house such activities as the alumni and student offices, a ballroom, lounging and study rooms, a cafeteria, and other facilities which are not included in the administration and instruction phases of the school. This is the only building that will not be financed by the state, and is the only one for which we can contribute financially to aid the expansion of this great school. Our contributions will be a lasting benefit to all future students of Weber College. Let us endow this structure with a gift from our hearts. The names of all contributors will be held in sacred memory in the annals of the college for all time. Any contribution is acceptable, from a modest sum to the endowing of a portion of the building, or the entire building, as a memorial to your name. —D. Ray Wilkinson, President Associated Alumni of Weber College 1s upon YOU As the future of children depends largely upon the care and environmental opportunities provided for them by their parents, so does a young and growing college depend upon its alumni for enthusiastic support, guidance, and care. The future of Weber College will depend greatly on the moral, financial, and verbal assistance given to it by its alumni association. As a student body we are keenly aware of the major role our former graduates should play in forming our school’s future. We are on the threshold of a four year college and a new campus and to whom could we more logically turn for assistance than to our alumni? As students we feel the acute need of better educational facilities in Weber County. We are vitally concerned with the four year college movement and new campus construction (a student union building in particular) and although these progressive steps may come too late to be of use to you as former students, and to us as present students, these much needed improvements will be of immeasurable value to generations of the future. —Laurence J.
