Show or how many times I hear about what makes Spring come. I'm going to come back every year and play hopscotch." That really got me. I just couldn't help but take one of those deep breaths and say "ahhh." Then I looked down at the sunset for awhile. The sky was getting sort of pink, but everything looked so soft and lovely. Then I said, "Girl, can I play hopscotch with you?" VISIONS FROM KADATH RODGER I. ANDERSON In misty sphere of nether climes dwell ancient gods from pagan times who live in slimy gulfs below the regions of eternal snow The dismal forms of demon things flap from out Cimmerian wings nightmare visions of death and hell that in great Hypnos' realm doth dwell. From N'kai and the outer climes flock dreadful things from Elder times to haunt my dreams with horrid fright, and fill my day with loathsome night. 26 A STUDENT'S COMPLAINT AFTER READING A FOUR HUNDRED PAGE POEM MEDITATIONS ON A TERM PAPER SARA MATHEWS I wonder if Goethe had known what I must do Would he have left out a witch or two? Would he have trimmed a speech or three To make it easier for me? Last night I finished "Faust." Would he have lost a few of his devils? Would he have cut a few of his revels? Would he have made Faust a little clearer More like the reflection in a mirror? Last night I finished "Faust." Would he have shortened it by scenes To keep it all with my means? Would he have used some moderation To earn the thanks of this generation? Or would he have gone sublimely on And on, and on, and on, and on? Last night I finished "Faust." 27 |
