Show Old River Locks The owner on this project was the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District. The work included the Old River Lock structure, guide walls and reservation buildings and the project was located in Point Coupee Parish, Louisiana. The work was sponsored by Brown & Root, Inc. 80% Utah's percentage was 20%. Brown & Root, Inc. entered into Contract No. DA-16-047-CIVENC-60-41, August 10, 1959. The agreement between Brown & Root, inc. and Utah for participation was dated September 17, 1959. The final contract value of this project was $14, 898, 430 of which Utah's share was $2,979,686. Manhee Dam (Bhumiphai Project) This project involved construction of a large concrete dam and power plant and lengthy transmission lines and associated substations for distribution of power to load centers. The dam is a concrete arch structure approximately 505 ft. high mod I, 532 ft. long at the crest. The thickness of the top of the dam is 19.7 ft. The base thickness at the maximum section is about 171 ft. The spillway is located in the right abutment. The power plant building is of reinforced concrete, about 158 meters long with a substructure having dimensions approximately 146 meters by meter to provide for ultimate installation of eight 70,000 kilowatt hydroelectric generating units. The superstructure is 80 meters by 34 meters to provide for three generating units. The location of the main. generator transformers is on the downstream deck of the power house. The power house is also provided with a service bay consisting of a machine shop, handling facilities, control room, etc. Electrical installations included installation of an embedded and buried grounding system, embedded parts of lighting fixtures in parapets of the dam, and power outlet receptacles. This contract was made and entered into July 31, 1958, by and between the Royal Irrigation Department of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Brown & Root, S. A. , and Utah International, Inc., Panamanian Corporation, The joint venture agreement between these two organizations is dated the same and percentages of participation were Brown & Root, S. A. - 60%; and Utah International., Inc. - 40%, respectively. The final total contract value of this project was $38,671,780. Utah's share of this was $15,468,712. Alemeda Tenants This work was done for South Shore Center, Inc. and amounted to $17, 616. Project location was Alameda, California. |
