After many years of devoted teaching, Mr. Don Call will finalize his teaching career with the graduates of 1978. Often referred to as Capt.-Gall; he has spent most of his studies in the science and math areas. Most students know Mr. Call as he is in class; patient with the lax student, interested in the subject he teaches, and more than pleased with an aggressive and hardworking student. Mr. Call was born in Brigham City, Utah, and was the 6th child out of nine. After graduating from Box Elder High School, Mr. Call served on an L.D.S. mission, then continued on, to graduate from B.Y.U. with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He majored in Chemistry and minored in Mathematics, and Physics. Music, track, and wrestling were some of his chief interests during college. Other than teaching at Weber, Captain Call has also been an instructor at Davis High, Wahlquist, and Riverdale Jr. High, in the state of Idaho, plus in Wyoming. From the numerous environments, and varied groups of students, Mr. Call can easily be commended with the experience he has acquired through out the years. Jobs in the field of Chemistry at Thiokol Rocket Division, and serving in the Navy can also be added to his list of accomplishments. In hobbies, Mr. Call places his wife, nine children, and sixteen grandchildren at the top of his list. Listening to good music, reading quality written books, fishing, experimenting with photography, and spending time in a garden are some of Don Call’s pleasures outside of school. He dislikes cleaning up after messy students, the inconvenience of taxes, and “baby-sitting” teen-agers. As Mr. Call ends his teaching career at Weber High, a strong and sincere note of deep appreciation goes out to him. Don Call is a teacher that Weber is more than proud to have and our best wishes go with him as we crown him a “True Warrior” infinitely.
