Show | : M \ | New Zion Baptist Church “Loyalty Day History” Celebrating 45 Years ... i | “The Church Built By Faith” { st The ground breaking service for the New Zion Baptist Church was of the late Reverend B.J. Washington. Some two years later, March 25, 1956, the first service was held in the new church. Each year since that time (Palm Sunday), New Zion celebrates its “Church Anniversary.” A New Zion church dedication service took place October 20-24, 1958 and on the Fourth Sunday, October 26, 1958. A dedication musical was held that Sunday evening. Guest ministers for the week included q under the pastorate Hi 1954, : 16, 3 May } held on Sunday, the late Reverend L.D. Williams, M.L. Shakespeare, W.I. That service acquired the name of “Loyalty Day.” Each year on the Fourth Sunday in October, New Zion holds this special dedicatory service, usually preceded by a}| revival... and today, marks our 45‘* commemorative celebration. |
