Show 18 ACORN make this year an all star one for the Juniors. At the first class meeting all vacant offices were filled. We were very successful in getting for our class advisor George Fister, as we have an especial liking for all the new unmarried instructors that come to Weber. Already this year the Juniors have given a very novel entertainment in the form of a carnival, which proved that they possess much talent and ability. The Juniors are anticipating a class party in the near future, at which we intend to become thoroughly acquainted so as to work in unity. The boys are all working hard along athletic lines. We are going to have the school championship. Sophomore Notes Once more we hear from the jolly class of '16. We are entering the school activities with unusual vigor this year and are sure of making a success of everything we undertake. There are one hundred students enrolled in the Sophomore class who are ever willing and ready to push along the cause of Weber. Our Athletic Manager is busy picking out our basket ball team and getting it ready for the struggle with its opponents. We have some very good material in the line of debating and we are going to try again for the honor of having our numerals engraved upon the debating cup. We have elected Miss Pearl Cragun our class advisor. With her help we are going to make the class of '16 the best in the school. Watson comes to the place with a spdendid record as an athlete. For years his name has stood out prominent among those who have placed the name of Weber among the winners in athletic sports. He was a star member of the basket ball teams of 1909, '10, '11 and '12; the latter year being chosen as right guard on the all state team, being the first Weber man to gain that honor. He was known as one of the cleanest players in the game, and seldom, if ever, fouled his opponent. He was also a winner on the track team, and has several medals which he won in the state meet. Besides his experience in the athletic field, h has taken a special course in physical training at the Deseret Gymnasium at Salt Lake City. With Watson as coach, Weber is certain to retain her name for fairness and clean playing, and with his ability and the support of the student body, we feel certain that Weber will have a winning team.
