During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES. VALUABLE INFORMATION FOR BUSINESS MEN. demand Notes are payable on presentation, without grace, and bear legal interest after a demand has been made, if not so written. An endorser on a demand note is holden only for a limited time, variable in different States. A Negotiable Note must be made payable either to bearer, or be properly endorsed by the person to whose order it is made. If the endorser wishes to avoid responsibility, he can endorse "without recourse." A Joint Note is one signed by two or more persons, who can each become liable for the whole amount. Three Days' Grace is allowed on all time notes, after the time for payment expires; if not then paid, the endorser, if any, should be legally notified, to be golden. Notes Falling Due Sunday, or on a legal holiday, must be paid the day previous. Altering a Note in any manner, by the holder, makes it void. Notes Given by Minors are void. The Maker of a Note that is lost or stolen is not released from payment if the amount and consideration can be proven. Notes Obtained by Fraud, or given by intoxicated persons, cannot be collected. An Endorser has a right of action against all whose names were previously on a note endorsed by him. A Bill of Exchange or Draft is an order drawn by one person or firm upon another, payable either at sight or at a stated future time. A note dated on Sunday is void. An endorser of a note is exempt from liability if not served with notice of its dishonor within 24 hours of its non-payment. Notes bear interest only when so stated. Principals are responsible for their agents. Each individual in partnership is responsible for the whole amount of the debts of the firm. Ignorance of the law excuses no one. It is a fraud to conceal a fraud. It is illegal to compound a felony. The law compels no one to do impossibilities. An agreement without a consideration is void. Signatures in lead pencil are good in law. A receipt for money is not legally conclusive. The acts of one partner bind all the others. Contracts made on Sunday cannot be enforced. A contract with a minor is void. A contract made with a lunatic is void. Written contracts concerning land must be under seal. Deposits of Money in a bank placed to the credit of depositors are always subject to their check for full amount due. |
