Show Evangelist Vasthi La’Mae Ervin Evangelist Vasthi La’Mae Ervin has been married to her best friend, Elder Stephen Ervin Sr., for 19 years. She is the proud mother of three children; Stephen Jr., Nathaniel and Jhau ’Zlynn Ervin. Her husband and her children are the loves of her life. She was born and raised in Ogden, Utah and has spent her life in the church. She accepted the Lord into her life as a teen, and experienced the baptism of the Holy Ghost when she was nineteen. She is one of many in the “Sixth Generation” of Missionaries and Evangelists in her — family. She also operates in the office of a prophet. She is the great, granddaughter of the late Mother Virneda and Elder Halsie Owens and the granddaughter of the late Mother Evelyn and Elder Robert Harris all of whom were pillars and trail blazers within the church and the community. She has worked in various capacities within the church. Working behind the scenes cleaning, serving, cooking, singing, teaching and working on various committees. She is a member if the Higher Heights COGIC, where Superintendent Curtis D. Sweet is her Pastor and Evangelist Rhonda Sweet is her First Lady. She serves in the capacity of Choir Director, Praise and Worship Leader, Ministry Team President, Youth Advisor, Youth Choir Director, and Youth Praise Dance Teacher. She formerly served with her husband as the Youth Pastor, a Sunday School Teacher and served on the Adjutancy Team. She is the Minister of Music for the Emmanuel District Choir, and the Praise Team President. She is a former director for the Arizona State Jurisdictional Choir, Utah State Choir, Ogden District COGIC Women’s Choir and president of the Women’s Fellowship Choir for the Utah State Department. The Lord has gifted Evangelist Ervin to write music, poetry and plays. She enjoys speaking, teaching, directing and praise dancing. She has taught many seminars and music workshops. Her favorite topics are women, the Holy Ghost, praise and worship and the mind. She is currently working on her first musical compilation entitled, “Life in a Song.” She is also developing a new ministry entitled “De’Zigning Women.” The Lord has endowed her with a love for his people. One that affects their hearts, elevates their minds, and changes their lives. She mentors, motivates, and inspires others to walk, talk, think and speak in their God given authority. It is her desire that the Lord’s people partake of the abundant life afforded to them by a covenant relationship with our Lord and_ Savior Jesus Christ. ‘Before I formed thee in the bell y [knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctitied thee, and [ ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
