MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE MORGAN STAKE ACADEMY 114 COMPOSITION Minutes of the Gran Theology meeting held May 29, 1889. Meeting called to order by Chairman Alma Bertoch,. After devotional exercises an opening prayer was offered by Harriett Waldron. Singing Minutes of previous meeting were read and accepted. The first was the changing of chairman and Secretary; Miss Eliza Francis was chosen by Lucy Robison to be Secretary and Lyman Porter was chosen by Alma Bertoch to be chairman. Bro. Edward Wadsworth then spoke a recitation entitled "A quarrel." Second was a sketch by Georgie Smith, but the sketch turned into a reading. Hannah Turner and Maggie Taggart then sang a song. Select reading was then read by Loretta Chapin entitled "Satan's Efforts". Emma Toomer was to speak a recitation, but was not prepared. Next was to be a sketch by James Florence, but was not prepared. Marlow Porter then spoke a recitation entitled "The Old Oaken bucket." Evelyn Harding was to sing a song, but was not prepared Lucy Robison gave an organ solo instead of it. Eliza Francis read select reading. A recitation was then to be spoken by Henry Fry, but was not prepared. Alvin Coolbear was then to sing a song, but was absent. The next was addresses from the students Olive Porter and Henry Fry. After that was instructions from the teacher, if the students were not prepared next time it would be due work for them. Programme was then read for next meeting.
