Weber Track Team Shaping Up As Victory Material Weber's 1952 track team is shaping up very nicely, according to Coach Anderson. The boys dominated a three-way meet with Westminster and Snow on April 19 by a margin of 20 points. The Wildcat's mile relay team, consisting of Jerry Loosely, Blaine Taylor, John Cardon, and Bob Wheelwright, figured heavily in the victory. Taking a lion's share of the laurels also was the 880 relay team composed of Don Shaw, Don Colvin, Paul Slater, and Dale Cow- gill. Coach Anderson said the biggest surprise of the meet was the first place in the low hurdles scored by Lamont Lamb, who is noted for shot put, javelin, and discus ability. The track team attended the B.Y.U. invitational meet on April 26 in which only individual honors were recorded. Fleet-footed Blaine Taylor was the meet's standout in \ the 440 yard run. He won handily with a scant time of :53.6 seconds. Coach Anderson is looking for some first places from the strong field event crew, in the four-way invitational meet at Westminster on May 3. Competing will be Snow, Carbon, Westminster, and Weber. The last track meet of the season will be the conference meet May 10 with Ricks, Boise, Carbon, B.A.C., Snow, Westminnster, Dixie, and Weber vieing for team honors. Doug Brian toed the rubber all nine frames and limited the opposition to ten scattered hits. Dick Peterson slammed out three hits in four trips to the platter. The sensation of the game was the running shoestring catch in the seventh frame by Hunsaker. He came up from the turf with the ball and in the same motion fired over to first-base for a double play. In an earlier encounter with the Hill Air Force nine, Weber won 10 to 5. The Wildcats are scheduled for a double header tomorrow at one p.m. in the Affleck park to complete the series with Ricks. Doug Brian and Don Shaw will be in the battery lineup tor the twin bill.
