Show Weber, Boise Favored To Take 'Warmups' For Their Big Due By JIM GREBE INTERMOUNTAIN LOOP OUTLOOK If they aren't looking too closely at their crucial meetings week hence, Weber College and Boise Junior College should breeze through "warmups" for that big one this week end. No Intermountain Collegiate Conference railbird would deny Saturday that BJC and the Ogden Wildcats are the cream of the ICAC cropjust as it was pointed out in these columns a month ago. At that time, the Deseret. News said the ICAC championship would be decided at Boise Oct. 20and things haven't changed a bit. Boise plays Oregon Tech at home Friday night, while Weber entertains Carroll College of Helena the same evening at Ogden. On Saturday, Oct. 20, Weber invades Boise for the showdown. Coach Milt Mecham's restocked Wildcats have bowled over four straight foes, the latest being College of Sequoia, 19-12. BJC, its Rose Bowl team riddled by graduation, stunned a good Ricks entry, but good, 39-0. The Broncs have lost only one game18-6 to a fine Olympic team. In another Friday game, Dixie is expected to lose its fourth in a row during a stopover in Rexburg, Ida., against Ricks. Carbon comes to Salt Lake City Saturday to play Westminster in the week's only other ICAC loop battle. BAC, after surprising by gaining a 0-0 tie with the Parsons last week, and Snow, a squeaky 26-25 winner over Hill Field, rest this week. Dixie lost in the week's other game, 13-6, to Eastern Arizona. Except for the Parson-Bronco deadlock, the ICACs played according to Deseret News predictions. In five games, this corner nailed down four winners. In 18 ICAC "calls" for the season...13 right, three wrong and two ties. But, wait'll Boise and Weber collide. Anybody want to volunteer to pick that one?
