Show play skirted right end for another six yards, Hall plunged over from the seven yard stripe and that was it. Try for point failed. The Giants, snapped right back, however and on the kickoff. Fran Weddle returned the ball to his own 30, where he was stopped by the Weber line. Lew Florence was off and running, breaking through the Weber line to almost a clear field, but the Weber safety man nailed him after a gain of about 10 yards. Florence and Bob Line kept hammering through the Wildcat center until they were down to the Weber five yard line, where Florence went over for the T.D. Try for point failed and the count was knotted at 6 and 6.The Sequoians were running a beautiful T formation that was clicking like a late model sewing machine. Another Drive Weber started the second quarter off with another drive, Hall picking up 11 yards through center, Lamb gaining enough for a first down on a spinner through center. Weber punted but the west coast team couldn't do much against the j Wildcat forward line at this point. With the home team in possession of the ball, Hall fired a long pass to Ron Wilkinson, good for 32 yards and Long Ron was over for the touchdown. Hall kicked the extra point and it was Weber 13, College of the Sequoias. The smooth running California team didn't wait long to reply, however, arid Weddle went, over for a six-pointer after the passing combination of Bob Line to Joe Alfaro and carried the Red and Blue boys down the field. Point after touchdown was wide and it was 13 to 12 for the home team. Neither the Purple and Whites from the old home town nor the Giants from Visalia, scored in the third quarter, when play was resumed after the colorful four-band half-time spectacle. Visalia tried hard enough, though and with blockers tearing big holes in the middle of the Weber line, Fran Weddle was biting off six and seven yards a whack, right down the field. Fine Combination Weber stopped them on the Wildcats own 15 however and with Hall pitching and Wilkinson catching, the locals gained back most of the ground they lost. The Wildcats put on some lateral and by making a few basketball passes to Rog Hall they racked up a couple additional first downs. It looked bad for Weber in the final stanza for the Giants were on the march with Weddle and Silvani and Louis Pia going both on the ground and in the air, for the Visalia team. After losing the ball on downs the Giants got it back again when Pit popped up from nowhere and intercepted a pass from Hall intended for Wilkinson but he fumbled the ball and Weber recovered. Hall then passed to, Wilkinson for nine yards, pitched a long one to Don Butler for nine more, after which Lamont Lamb went through the left side of the line for 10 more. A couple of Roger Hall's passes were batted down or fell in un-populated territory, when Shaw went around left end to pick five. Then came the payoff. Hall took the ball, headed straight for center, cut in toward right end, fishtailed back, bounced off two would-be Visalia tacklers, cut left, cut right again and lit out for home. Inches from the goal line a Giant tackier charged but somehow Hall swerved ricocheted off the enemy like a .30-.30 slug from a flat rock and was over for another Weber score. The stands went wild. The Visalians, appearing a little angry with the turn of events, started a drive that set Weber back on its heels until they rallied almost at their own goal to stave off the threat. They held, like the glue you read about and they were headed back to their own end of the field when the game ended. College of the Sequoias Ends Scott, Alfaro, Attawa, Mayberry, Martin.
