Show Students, Alums, in Two Day Reunion HOMECOMING EDITION OGDEN, UTAH Queen and Attendants to Reign Over Assembly, Game and Dance Pretty Queen Etta Mae Taylor and her two attendants, Afton Kunz and Elaine Barker climbed onto the purple thrones today to begin a two-day reign as royalty of the Weber College Homecoming celebration. Chosen Tuesday morning by popular student vote, the royal court will lend their official presence to events as cozy as a cider and donut reception and as spacious as the open play of the football field. The reunion, spread over two days this year because of school dismissal Friday, will begin today with the traditional homecoming assembly at 1030 a. m., in the Moench auditorium. Students, faculty, and returning Alumni will be welcomed by college Pres. H. A Dixon, Alumni Pres. Douglas Burnett and Student Body Pres. Fred Ball. After the assembly the Weber college band will hold a concert in city hall park under direction of Mr. Delmar Dickson. Todays activities close with the Alumni reception at the Institute of Religion from 8 to 10 p. m., under direction of the Alumni Association. All former Weber students are invited. According to the schedule of events worked out by celebration chairman, John Kelly, faculty, and Blain Taylor and Dell Foutz, students, activities will resume tomorrow evening when a parade of brightly decorated cars will file through the business district of Og- den and proceed to the game at the stadium. The traditional victory bell and queen float will also make the motorized snake dance to the game Cash wards will be given to the owner of the best decorated automobile. Weber will meet Carrol college of Helena, Montana at 800 p. m. Half time activities at the stadium will be highlighted by the introduction of the queen and her court to the crowd. Get Acquainted Tea For Alumni Is Tonight at Institute Weber college alumni back on the campus for homecoming activities will get together informally at a reception tonight, October 11, from 8 to 10 p. m. in the L. D. S. Institute of Religion, Alumni President Douglas Burnett said. Highpoint of Alumni sponsored activities during the two-day reunion, today and tomorrow, the reception will give old students and faculty members the chance to meet and discuss past glories over cider and doughnuts, Mr. Burnett said. In announcing the reception, Mr. Burnett also invited all friends of the college, whether Alumni or not, to attend homecoming affairs. These get underway this morning with an assembly at 1030 in the Meonch auditorium. After the assembly the college band will hold a concert in Municipal Building Park. The Alumni reception ends todays activities. Tomorrow is a holiday at the college. Homecoming events resume in the evening with a football game at the stadium and conclude with the Homecoming dance in the college ballroom. Members of the Alumni organization assisting President Burnett in preparing the reception are Marvel Young, Marjorie Koldewyn, Mrs. Lydia Tanner, Dr. Don Buswell, and Howard Ogden. M.Football Game, Car judging at half time Immediately After GameHomecoming Dance. Partial Play Cast Selected Thatcher Allred has chosen part of the cast for The Traitor. Among those cast for the forthcoming play The Traitor are John Shorten, Marilyn Carver, Bill Elliot, Rebecca Wells, Ray Fielding, Walter Prothero, Dean Thueson, Bob Van Dyke, Jay Poulter, Whitney Young, Herbert Spence, Harold Westergard, Theron Watts and Lynn Bush. Casts are selected for all College- Community productions from contestants both on and off the cam pus. In the cast so-far named for The Traitor, six college actors have achieved roles. Thatcher Allred, director of the play, said he was pleased with the results of tryouts which have taken place during the past two weeks. He believes that a cast as strong and well-balanced as has been chosen will live up to the best of expectations with a play unusual enough and strong enough to need a team of players as good as the college and the city affords.
