Show "Five Finger Exercise" By Peter Shaffer "Five Finger Exercise," an arena production directed by John M. Elzey, comes out double-fisted with all the power and strength of a prize fighter, and yet it preserves he beauty and feeling of a concert pianist. The play tells a story of family strife and misunderstanding and of the problem of communicating one's emotional needs to another. Top left, Walter, Pamela Harrington's French tutor, serves breakfast to Stanley, whose unpleasantness reflects his fear that his wife is having a love affair with the tutor. Top middle, Louise is an aging woman who seeks Clive Harrington ............... Robert Stanley Louise Harrington ................ Cheryl Clark Stanley Harrington ................ James Case Pamela Harrington ................. Sally Todd Walter Langer ................... Robert Britt an extra marital affair although she does love her husband. She considers Walter a possible lover, while he longs for her motherliness. Top right, Clive and Pamela tease each other. Bottom left, After having argued about divorce, Stanley suggests that he and his wife travel to the place where they first fell in love. Bottom middle, Clive repents gossiping about his mother's and Walter's "affair" and desires to now do a good turn. Bottom right, in a typical schoolroom scene, Walter helps Pamela with her French. |
