Show The Evolution Assembly combined faculty and student talent. Grant Johnson and Rene Sandgren were the lucky pair at the annual A.M.S. Fireman's Ball. This is the "black pearl," theme of the Oki Odori. Clever? Sadie Hawkins Day activities which featured a greased pig chase and a girl-catch-boy-Sadie-Hawkins-style chase. And of course, one must remember Baccalaureate and Commencement. Unfortunately, the activities schedule does not always agree with the Acorn press schedule; therefore, first hand information on all activities was not available at the time this publication finally met its last deadline. Several dramatic productions were also in the planning stages at the time of this writing, having since been produced and enjoyed by many Acorn readers. Bell, Book and Candle, a hilarious comedy by John Van Druten, was artistically presented April 17-21 in the Arena Theater under the direction of John M. Elzey. The cast included Sally Bane as Gillian Holroyd, with Roy Van Orman, Bonnie Bam-brough, Lou Johnson, Don Gardner, and Pyewacket-"a special guest star with a great deal of experience." The season ended with The Gazebo, delightfully presented May 3-5. The mystery comedy by Alec Cop-pell was directed by T. Leonard Rowley, with Ron Patterson as assistant director. The production starred Ted Bunnell, Mary Ellen Bailey, Colleen Johnson, Orlan Owen, Marilyn Egan, Monte Shupe, Mike Oborn, Hugh Roberts, and Bob Britt. T.K.'s Oki Odori royalty were Val Brown and Jeanne Christensen. Below, Max Morath, famed ragtime artist, entertained at Club Can Can. Loiter left, the Club Can Can chorus line does some high stepping at intermission. Lower right, waitets and hostesses in Gay Nineties costume were on hand to serve "Club" patrons.
