The lists of participants of each group must be handed to the Deans of Women and Men two weeks before the actual performance for clearance as to eligibility. Participation in only one group will be permitted. 1. Each group will sing two songs: (a) a standard musical number, (b) an original ‘fun song’. Music may be borrowed from a published song, but originality in the words ts stressed. 9. The percentage of the membership of the group partictpating in this activity will be a criteria of the judging procedure. 2. These two songs are to be sung in an entertaining manner with showmanship and skill, using pantomime tf necessary. 10. Each group will program. 3. The dress worn at the presentation must be a part of the group’s present wardrobe, not purchased especially for this event. Additional costuming for one song ts permitted at a maximum cost of $1.00 for each individual. 11. Women groups will be in competition with each other. groups will be in competition with each other. 4. Ten (10) minutes will be allowed each participating group to perform. Timing beginning when the curtain opens to the time it closes. There will be a penalty for overtime, or too far undertime. 5. Each group must be led by a student director during the actual performance. However, each group tis free to receive whatever help it needs from any individual prior to the performance in the Song Fest competttton. 6. No more than two accompanists will be allowed for each song. No more than two instruments may be used to accompany and the instruments maybe different for each song. If there ts not an accompanist in the membership of the group, they may be selected from outside the group. Notification of this must be made to the Deans of Men and Women as soon as selected. 7. Eligibility of performers: All singers and leaders must conform to the W.S.C. Eligibility Rules for student participation in activities as participant must the quarter, current outlined be carrying must at have in the College Catalog: least 12 hours of W.S.C. completed at least Each 12 hours credit the previous quarter with a grade point average of at least 2.00 and a cumulative average G.P.A. of at least 2.00 .
