ZELLE TAPS” fd “MAM 4 & : N April 13, the music department, under the direction of Mr. Powell and with the assistance of other members of the school, presented { Ax o”es the operetta ““Mam/’zelle Taps” in the school auditorium. The operetta was an interesting combination of sweet melodies and clever speeches. The plot dealt with three soldiers, each of a different nationality, who were in France during the World War, and with a French Captain Gringo who were all trying to win the hand of Marie. The three soldiers agreed that the one who succeeded in exposing Gringo as a spy should win Marie. Many embarrasing situations arose from their efforts. But Gringo was proven traitor by Marie, who was finally won by ~ nt ISIS e/ 2 Alonzo, the American Soldier. d 6 oo eS °7> z Co Mr. Powell directed the singing, Mr. Pettigrew the orchestra, Miss Croft the dancing, and Mr. Morley the staging. With the cooperation and continuous efforts of the principals, faculty, chorus and students, the operetta was a big success.
