Show CHILDREN'S THEATER EVERY year the speech department of Weber High presents a fairy tale to the elementary schools in Weber County. This year the two Childrens Theater casts, directed by Reaveau Whitmore and Weldon Heslop, delighted many audiences with their portrayal of Hansel and Gretel. Although the main plot of the story was identical, the old witch was very near sighted and she brought many chuckles to the audiences and added much to the gay fantasy of the story. Many moments of suspense held the listen- ers spellbound like the time Hansel and Gretel are left deep in the forest .. . or when the witch is planning to devour the children, but as in all good fairy tales everyone lived happily after, all except for the old witch that is.. ever DIRECTORS of the two casts were Mrs. Whitmore and Mr. Heslop. Student directors were Bill Higley and Burrell Davis. Those in the play were Phil Mathews Judy Grant and and Mac Shirley Gift as Father; Mother, Larsen; Hansel, Lyle El- more and Gail Harms; Gretel, Cherri Lindsay and Barbara Parker; Witch, Nancy Knowles and Connie McDougal; Fairy, Elaine Parker and Lois Alder; Cat, Jo D’ Ann Taylor and Charlotte Smith; Extra Children Brown, were and Carol DeLoe Manning, Ann Fox, Gerald Thompson. The mean old witch locking forest fairy in the box so she have control of the forest. the will Hansel and Gretel talking to their dear father. Sweet dreams of the forest fairy. |
