Delvaux From M, Bigelow Browning Reference Your cable July 13th Date Tualy 15, 1949 Dear Mr. Delvaux: Appreciated the prompt cable on the status of the 20 gauge Supers. My cable of July 15th (copy attached) explains the changes we would desire if it is possible to make them without interfering with production or causing FN any considerable trouble. A typographical error sure this caused occurred in the first sentence you no great confusion because we, of this cable. Am of course, no 20 have quite gauge improved modified chokes on order and the whole object, as you know, of this move is to avoid too many improved cylinder and modified guns, This first sentence should read: “If 25" vent improved cylinder and modified order can be revised to more 23” vent full and modified, please change 100 stop”. Accordingly, a second cable of clarification was sent (copy attached). We assumed from your cable that the 28" vent improved cylinder and modified guns have already been made up. We asked consideration on the changing of these guns merely to be certain that no change can be made without trouble. It is very desirable that we receive “open chokes” as soon as possible. Open choke guns refers to anything below modified choke, namely, improved cylinder, etc. If we get our open choke guns first, we can move these right out and go on to any amount of reboring then necessary on the close choke guns. On the other hand, if we receive the full and modified chokes first we are afraid to rebore therm until we have moved the open chokes. This, of course, causes a certain amount of unnecessary delay in delivering guns to the dealers. If it is possible, again without disturbing FN or delaying production, we should like to receive these improved cylinder guns as soon as possible.
