February 9, 1951 When we recently contacted other shops regarding this part, we found that Muenz, at Shapleigh Hardware Company, said that he has not encountered any trouble with the stamped out carrier latch. He believes this type carrier latch is every bit as good as the machined type. Although he has had no new Belgian Browning Automatics to work on for carrier latch adjustment, it is his firm belief that the stamped out parts on new Remington guns are every bit as good as machined parts. Mitch Heiter, Nichols, says that the screw hole beats and the part which releases the carrier is too thin. The St. Lovis Gun Repair Shop men stated with the stamped out carrier latches. that they not experienced any trouble stamped at Dale carrier latch Ernie Simmons, in Kansas with this new latch. that City, advised that had they have oblong had no trouble in the whatsoever Of course, where the Shapleigh Hardware Company is concerned, they are not a Browning dealer and have not serviced many Browning guns. Also, since this part is in guns of relatively recent manufacture, it is most likely that anyone having any difficulty would send the gun into our Shop.
