Show 8 THIRTEENTH ANNUAL REPORT In Chemistry and in Physics $2.00, and in Zoology $1.00 are charged as fees for the use of chemicals and other materials necessary to successfully teach these subjects. All the above fees are payable strictly in advance. Board and lodging can be secured at private families for from $2.00 to $4.00 per week. By several students clubbing together, these expenses may be much reduced. SOCIETIES. When the student has worked arduously in the daily routine of class recitations, it is a rest for the mind to enter fields of thought not regularly followed. For this purpose the Literary Society is organized. Evening sessions are held every two weeks in the large hall of the Academy. The best talent in oratory and music, of the city and the state, is engaged for these occasions. Other societies are organized for special classes to aid students in acquiring a practical knowledge of debating, composition, speech-making, parliamentry rules, etc. Courses of Study). The following courses of study are offered for 1900-1901. 1.A two years' Preparatory Course. 2.A two years' Commercial Course. 3.A one year's course in Phonography and Typewriting. 4.A four years' High School Course. 5.A three years' and a four years' Normal Course. 6.A three years' Literary Course. GRADUTION. Students will be given certificates on the completion of the preparatory course as herein prescibed, and diplomas on the completion of either of the higher courses. For regular diplomas a charge of three dollars will be made. The standing of students in studies pursued is determined from the daily records of recitations, reviews, and final examinations. No student shall receive credit towards graduation in any study in which the percentage of excellence falls below 60; nor shall any student be graduated who does not attain an average of 75 percent in all studies included in the course. WEBER STAKE ACADEMY. 9 Since changes may be necessary from year to year, students who register for any course will be permitted to graduate in the course as laid out in the annual of the year in which they register.
