Littlefield Utah International Inc. 550 California Street San Francisco, California 94104 Dear Mr. Littlefield: May I express belated regards for your thoughtful letter of 3 June 1976. I do appreciate the time and effort that your considerate reply to me involved. I also have great respect for the opinions expressed therein. However, on the day UCs proxy material reached me, the N.Y. Times informed me that GE had paid New York State the sum of three million dollars as damages for polluting the Hudson River, that GE was laying off a considerable number of workers due to excess inventory of house hold appliances and finally that the largest volume of GE Stock was bordering just above the years low. To my mind, these recent developments, when added to the inconspicuous performance of GE over the past 10 years raise real doubts as to the wisdom of an affirmative vote in support of the merger. I can unequivocally state that I would prefer to take my chances with UC, fully cognizant |
