NAVY'S NEWEST DESTROYER The SPRUANCE (DD-963), powered by gas turbine engines and equipped with the latest systems for anti-submarine warfare, is the lead ship in a new fleet of multi-mission destroyers for the United States Navy. Thirty of the modern ships are being built at Ingalls Shipbuilding division of Litton Industries in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Litton is the designer of this new class of ship. post card |
