Before him dark, forboding, gruesome, an aceldama of men, earth, steel and barbed wire lay "No Man's Land." Waiting. Waiting for more blood to quench that insatiable lust. Waiting for torture, for more broken, mangled, crushed bodies to fertilize the plains of Hell. It was cloudy overhead, and far off to the east the lightning flashed revealing hideous and ghastly figures silhouetted against the skyline. Off to the right a flash illuminated a body hanging over a barbed-wire entanglement, bullet-riddled in an attempt to shoot it down. It starts to rain. Not an honest to God rain, but a dreary, maddening drizzle. An overturned tank looms up in the dark like a cloud of death. It was quiet that night in "No Man's Land." It was quiet save for the distant rumbling of thunder and the low moaning of wounded men caught in the muck and mud of nowhere. The God of War rose silently and stalked out into the battleground, raised his sword aloft, and the very bowels of Hell were torn loose. The earth trembled beneath the feet of charging, yelling men bent on killing each other ....
