THINGS AROUND HERE (Editorial) Old Paint, red and white pony at lower left, should be made the mascot of a much-needed Weber College "good times" committee. We have plenty of space for more student body fun. After chatting with various teachers, we conclude that Weber College has not got back up on its legs since World War II. Officials are said to be wondering why the school is not attracting more and more students and laying blame upon present military activity. In part the war-is-responsible complex may be justified, but we must face up to the fact that Russia is going to make the present military outlook a way of life far into the indefinite future. Our policy should be to enlarge the activity program as one answer to the defeatist attitude. On these pages are pictures of a type of student enthusiasm at Weber that if kept and expanded in all ways possible will attract "doing" students and their friends and followers. 22 |
