Description The Weber County Chapter of the Red Cross began in December 1915 when a small group of individuals gathered to begin organizing a chapter of the Red Cross. In 1962, the name was changed to the Bonneville chapter, and in 1969, the chapter merged with other chapters in Northern Utah to become the Northern Utah Chapter, with its headquarters located in Ogden, Utah. The scrapbooks range from 1940 to 2003 and highlight some of the important work of the Red Cross. The books include photographs, newspaper clippings, and other materials.

Red Cross instructor Herb Barthels (left) offers first aid tips whil accident "victim" Private First Class Homer F. Bailey watches attentively. Sp4 Wall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rovert E. Wall of 164 Country Club Drive South, Ogden, is assigned to the 123rd Signal Battalion in Wuerzburg, Germany. Prospective members of the Ski Patrol are required to take a 40-hour Red Cross first aid course before being qualified for duty at the Garmisch Armed Forces Recreation Center. Training is given on the ski slopes below the towering Zugspitze in the Bavarian Alps as a part of American Red Cross service to U.S. military personnel serving in Europe.
