The path of annulus starting from a point in the North Atlantic Ocean and passing through the extreme northern parts of the British Isles and Norway. A Total Eclipse of the Moon. April 21-22. Visible to North and South America, the West Indies and New Zealand, and in part to the eastern portion of Australia. Occurring as follows: First contact of shadow, 50 degrees from the south point of the Moon's limb toward the east. Magnitude of eclipse, 1.074 (Moon's diameter, 1.0). A Total Eclipse of the Sun, Oct. 1. Invisible to the United States. Visible as a partial eclipse to the southern half of South America, the path of totality extending across the oceans south of South America. A Partial Eclipse of the Moon, October 16. Visible to Europe and Africa. The beginning visible generally in Asia, the Philippine Islands, the western part of Australia, and the eastern part of South America ; the ending visible generally in western Asia, South America, the West Indies, and North America except the western part.
