Show 28 THE ACORN The Freshmen Party The first party given by the class of 1910 on the night of November 15, proved to be a success in every feature. The party began at 8:30 and during the first part of the evening many interesting games were played, after which refreshments were served. We all separated feeling that the class of '10 is the class of the W. S. A. Sophomores Party of Class-of-'09 On the evening of October 28th our class met in the sewing room to enjoy a few hours of Sophomore fun. The room was decorated with silver and blue, our class colors, which hung there until they became displeasing in the sight of the Juniors and Seniors. The class assembled at 8 o'clock. Games were played, and other amusements participated in, after which ice cream and cake were served by some of our girls, assisted by a few favored boys. After partaking of this, other games were played until time for adjournment. We were disturbed somewhat by having the lights turned off and the company of a small dog forced upon us, all of which were soon forgotten by most of the class. One thing that will not be forgotten, especially by those boys who walked to Twelfth street and return, is that the cars were not running. The Juniors Smouldering ashes often contain fire, which needs but the breath of the wind to fan it into the brightest flame. So it is with the Juniors, we want simply a chance, and we will show what we can do. We as yet have not done much, but we must not and will not fall down at this late period, when our reputation is at stake. For the present May our Crimson float through every clime, As an honor to our class, May our efforts to succeed each time. Prove more worthy than the last. L. G. '08.
