Show 16 WEBER STAKE ACADEMY Lecture Course Our lecture course is now four years oldfar beyond the experimental stage. From a very modest beginning, it has grown slowly but surely until it has taken the foremost place in the state and equal to many of the best in the West. Last year the following celebrated readers and lecturers appeared before large audiences: Edmund Vance Cook, Rev. Sam Jones, Prof. S. H. Clark in a series of four readings, Dr. Geo. E. Vincent, Alton Packard, Spillman Riggs, Dr. Thos. E. Green, two lectures, and Lou. J. Beauchamp. In addition to the last four named, such celebrities as Wm. Jennings Bryan, Maw, the great Magician, the famous Dunbar quartette and bell-ringers, Rogers and Grilley, readers and impersonators, John B. DeMott and others will make up the course for next year. The benefits of the lecture course that come not only to the students of the Academy, who are almost a unit in attending them, but also to the public, are of inestimable value. Course of Instruction Theology The Theological Course is arranged with a view to prepare students for missionary labors both at home and abroad; to establish faith in their hearts; to cultivate pure moral principles, and to fortify them against the vices and evil allurements of the age. With this object in view the following courses are offered. Preparatory Course Book of Mormon: Treated Historically Academic Course Book of Mormon.This course will consider the origin and divine authenticity of the Book. It will treat the subject from three points of view, viz: Testimony from the Bible, testimony from Archaeological sources and testimony from the Book itself.
