Mr. Reid, Doris Berrett, Hannah Hill, Fay Roberts, Jack Reese, Keith Robinson, Fred Wilson, Helen Wadsworth, Elwyn Carver, Elwood Manning, Erwin Heslop, Maureen Carr, Ross Shupe, Arlean Simpson, Beus So- derquist, Glen McKay, Donald Busch. The orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Reid, presented a musical assembly for the school and played for the operetta and cantata. April 26, they traveled to Brigham City to participate in the Music Festival tor this region. The rating won by them was “highly superior’. Weber entered three soloists who won high ratings. They were Eliza- beth Blair, piano; Maurine Carr, French horn; and Gwinevere Orme, cello. The band furnished pep music for basketball and football games. They also sent a small group to the Music Clinic at Logan and they rendered three numbers for the Fine Arts Review. The chorus has accomplished many noteworthy things this year. Besides the presentation of the annual operetta, they gave a Christmas Cantata and several numbers in the Fine Arts Review. They also attended the Vocal Music Festival for high northern Utah and southern Idaho at Logan, April 20. schools of They rehearsed during the day for the massed concert in the U. S. A. C. Field House at night. The solos, quartettes, and trios had separate auditions. Each school selected one number to present at the concert. Weber was represented by Delbert Burnett, tenor. In the fall, a small group attended a Music clinic in Logan. 67 |
