Show ECLIPSES FOR THE YEAR. In the year 1922 there will be two Eclipses, both of the Sun. I. An Annular Eclipse of the Sun, March 28. Visible to Florida, the West Indies, Central America, Europe, Western Asia, and South America and Africa with the exception of the southern portions The path of annulus crosses the northern parts of South America and Africa. II. A Total Eclipse of the Sun, September 21. Invisible to the United States. Visible to Australia, the southern portions of Asia] and the eastern part of Africa. The path of totality crosses the central part of Australia. FESTIVALS AND FASTS. THE SEASONS. MORNING STARS. EVENING STARS. U.S.DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE. WEATHER BUREAU. INTERPRETATION OF SIGNALS. DISPLAY EXAMPLES. TO FIND THE LENGTH OF DAY OR NIGHT. At any time of the year add 12 hours to the time of the sun's setting, and from the sum subtract the time of rising for the length of the day. Subtract the time of setting from 12 hours, and to the remainder add the time of rising next morning for the length of the night. These rules are equally true for apparent time. |
