Show THE TUMBLER'S PERFECT PYRAMID IS DEMONSTRATED BY THE COMMANDO TUMBLERS. COMMANDO'S WORKSHOP IN a fast moving circus performance, the tumblers made their debut in a student body assembly. The mats were rolled out and the boys began a series of high jumps, leaps, and somersaults. Harold Thompson, Ken Tucker and Rio Yamamoto demonstrated their skill, swinging precariously on the parallel bars. Rope scaling and heavy weights were demonstrated by Ken Parsons and Fred Roland. There were a few minor injuries of skinned knees HUMAN EQUILIBRIUM. From the several gym classes, Coach Reed Swenson chose twenty boys to make a tumbling team, which was to learn the techniques of commando tumbling. The boys spent two hours daily in the gym, the first few weeks in limbering up the neglected muscles of the anatomy. The techniques used were the simple and effective sit-ups, burpees, and push-ups. The boys began each class with a few limbering up exercises, then the apparatus was rolled out and the real work began. Leather dummy horses, parallel bars, rolling wheel, spring boards and safety belts aided the tumblers in learning the proper techniques.
