This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show FRI. SEPT. 25, 1925. Did sewing today. Dr & I attended a dancing party at the Weber Club given by mrs. Arthur & others. Also spent a short time at the Weber College party. SATURDAY 26. Am very buisy today as I gave a party dinner for Myrene & 11 of her friends. Thair & Miss Budge came up from Salt Lake. I served cream tomato soup steak & French fryed potatoes, grape ice, Waldorf salad, Date Pudding & hot biscuit. SUNDAY 27. Mt. Ogden Stake Conference. I attended both sessions. Thair Myrene & Clotell budge also went this AM. Miss Budge is our guest for a day or two. MON. SEPT. 28, 1925. Mrs. Ruard helped me with a two weeks washing. Thair & Myrene entered the University of Utah for the year. TUESDAY 29. I attended a Relief Society party in the Fifth Ward given for Sister Lydia Burrows. Attended a Stake Party in the 12 Ward. A costume party. Dr wore his English Prince albert coat & a silk hat. WEDNESDAY 30. To day was Mt. Ogden RS day at the Temple. I was not well so did not go but there was a good attendance. I spent the afternoon with Sister Beers who has lost her sight. This evening Dr Avon Mary & I saw Lucy Gates in Riverlette. |
