Show In the past four months about 875, 000 cubic yards of material have been handled. It was expected that the work for the present would be completed in April but an additional amount of about 300, 000 cubic yards was added to the dike and com- pletion will probably not take place until early June. About 185 men were employed on this contract at an average rate of $1.38 per hour. Levees and Bypass Contract - Lytle and Cajon Creeks - U. S. Corps of Engineers-Bids were received in the latter part of July 1945 for the second section of the Lytle and Cajon Creeks Flood Control Project of the U.S. Engineers. A combined bid of Winston Brothers Company, Utah, and Vinnell Company was successful at about $2,750,000. Work started in August, 1945. An average of about 450 men were employed on this project. It should be stated here that 1945 was really the first year that Utah kept a bidding list record in the files. This was the first year that projects and bidding activities were listed in the Quarterly Reports to the Board of Directors. And, for that matter, really only the second year that the quarterly reports themselves were kept.
