The committee decided at one of its early meetings to formulate a program that would give the students pratical experience in the building trades. In order for this to be done it was necessary to form a non-profit corporation to be responsible for the projects financing. The corporation was formed on October 21, 1940. The original board of directors was, Earl S. Paul, President; W. B. Prout, Vice-president; Robert A. Clarke; secretary-treasurer; H. Aldous Dixon; Thomas Wangsgaard; Lorenzo E. Peterson; LeRoy Blaser and Ora Bundy. The program was to build at least one house a year for sale and to acquire property for the next years project. I furnished the first lot which was at 2933 Brinker Avenue. The business people of Ogden were very cooperative and furnished the materials necessary to finish the projects on credit, until the project was completed and sold; the students did the labor as part of their schooling. The first building was supervised by Lorenzo E. Peterson. The picture below shows the building under construction.
