Show During the time that I was associated with Weber College I was a general contractor, a member of the Assoicated General Contractors of America and on the Labor Committee, a most time comsumimg position; I was a charter member of the Weber County and Ogden City Planning Commission; chairman of the Ogden City Real Estate adjustment committee; a member of the Chamber of Commerce and on the Weber College Development Committee; a member of the Rotary Club; on the Brigham Young University finance committee and was appointed on a committee of three to investigate plans for student housing for University(BYU); President of the Mount Ogden Stake and chairman of the Northern Utah Welfare Region and the four committees for Weber College and was chairman of three of them. All of these things that I was interested in and asked to do I was helped with wonderful men and women. Men and women who were skilled and masters in their feilds of accomplishments. Wise counselors who were always willing to assist in every way as the work progressed. I give thanks to each and every one on all of the committees of Weber College and in the other work assigned me. Their help was outstanding! Day after day as I ride past Weber College I rejoice when I look at the magnificent work that has been accomplished under the direction of President Henry Aldous Dixon; President William P. Miller and now President Joseph L. Bishop with the help of a devoted faculty, the students, the Board of Education and our great and beloved State of Utah; for many businesses, clubs and individuals who have given generously of their time and means for the beautification and development of Weber State College with its new Dee Center. Weber College is very dear to us, several of our family have attended Weber. It has become a great institution and is fully fulfilling the vision I had of its future on that cold 1947 February afternoon with President Dixon. Some day the hill side above the Mountain Road will be covered and landscaped with beautiful buildings, serving many future students |
