Show STUDENT GOVERNMENT One of the vital pictures we see through Weber's Window Frame is the outstanding Student Government organized under the fellowing headings: The Board of Control, the Associated Students of Weber College, the Sophomore and the Freshman Classes, the Associated Men Students, the Associated Women Students, and various committees, councils, and clubs. Our student government sponsored for the first time this year the Leadership Banquet for all student leaders. The Board of Control, which is the executive body of student government, includes student officers, sophomore and freshman class presidents, representatives from both classes, and a faculty supervisor chosen by members of the Board. The Board of Control manages the budget provided by student funds, appoints committees, designates staff officers, and organizes a program of out-of-class activities. Jim Hurst Studentbody President Jim Hurst, our studentbody president, has had a wide variety of experience which gives him a mature grasp of student government. Nancy Hollist Vice President Nancy Hollist has outstanding leadership and friendliness. Carolyn Nelson Secretary Carolyn Nelson keeps our student body alive and active. Jim Watts Treasurer Jim Watts, treasurer, handles tthe funds efficiently. Alan Christensen Business Manager Alan Christensen keeps us informed about student affairs. COMMITTEES The Assembly Committee schedules and supervises Weber College assemblies and also helps to prepare and schedule exchange programs. Committee members give assistance to visiting schools and establish high standards for student body and club assemblies put on by Weber students. The Publicity Committee publicizes activities and achievements of the Weber College Association and also outstanding accomplishments of faculty members. The committee also informs the Weber College Association of activities and publicity which are favorable to the College. The Standards Committee recommends policies regarding the scholar- ship, conduct, and safety of students on the campus. Whenever students violate Weber's standards of conduct or scholarship, the Committee may recommend fines, probation, or ex- pulsion. |
