Show VIRGINIA ANDERSON Court Fiddler DOROTHY YOUNG "The Jester" LAVERN ZUNDELL Court Soloist LORRAINE SKIDMORE Court Fiddler Acorn Christmas Ball Setting-The winter woods. Color scheme: rose, silver and blue. The white throne and snow banks, flooded with light, are set in a bower of Christmas trees. Carved ice punch bowls and candle stick holders featured the booths. Act 1-The Introduction of the Queen of Winter. Tiny girls representing snowflakes mark off with silver ribbons a path of honor for the entrance of two court fiddlers, ten maids, a court jester, and dancers in rose and blue costumes. The Queen of Winter follows, ascends the throne, and is hailed in song. Act II-The Presentation of the Gifts of Winter. 1-Spirit of Winter Scenery-Beauty. 2-Spirit of Winter Sports-Comradeship. 3-Spirit of Christmas-Love. The Jester, who, during the interpretation of the other gifts has pantomimed her gift, presents the Queen with a Christmas rose as a symbol of the love and adoration of the court. |
