Show Seven positions open Elections due in April, petitions circulating By Michael Tupa Elections for studentbody positions will be held April 15 and 16, and candidates are currently in the process of petitioning for respective offices. The seven positions to be filled by student elections include, studentbody president, academic-vice president, and vice presidents for activities student services, administrative, cultural, and public relations for ASWSC. The office of studentbody president has been held this year by Bryan Steele and the duties of the office include heading up the executive council, participating in the Student Administrative Forum and sitting in on the Institutional council. Scott Adamson has filled the position of academic vicepresident this school year, the duties of this office are to head up the Academic Assembly and be part of the Faculty Standing Committee. Movies and dances have been under the charge of Sally M. Johnson as activities vicepresident, whose other duties include being in charge of the College Activities Board and Union Cultural events. The position of student services vice-president has been headed by Mike Arave and the responsibilities include overseeing projects for married students and Volunteer’s in Community Environment. Clay Richardson is the administrative vice-president and his duties have included opinion research and participation in the Administrative Standing Com4: mittee eum tt ; . ark TaVroet - Lenvocations have been run by cultural vice-president Rex Leetham, whose office is also in charge of concerts. The office of public relations has been filled by Chris Malan and the responsibilities include campus relations, community relations and high school relations. Petitions for all these offices are now available at the student government office from the secretary. They must be turned in by March 11 with 50 signatures in order for a candidate to be qualified. In cases where three or more people qualify to run for the same office a primary election will be held, April 8 and 9. to reduce the field to two candidates per office. Final elections will be held April 15 and 16.
