Show DRAMATICS ‘The Willow And !”’ Jean The story revolves around two sisters, both of whom Nelson, Aca Stringham, Don Becker are in love with Dr. Robin Todd. Mara succeeds in winning his affections, but her romance is thwarted on the eve of her wedding by her sister, Bessie, who attempts to take her own life. Mara succeeds in stopping this catastrophe, but in doing so, suffers severe shock, which causes her to lose her sense of reason and her sense of speech. Forty years later, Bessie has married Robin and they have a son, Kirkland. Soon after the son’s birth, the doctor dies, leaving Bessie to rear the boy and care for her aging father and invalid Mara. Near the end of the play, the noises of a storm shock Mara back into reality where she faces a world that “changes swiftly in the night’. : Janet Allen, Glen Rudd, Thelma Carol Folkman.
