My search in that direction covered the records for eleven months from May, 1951 to March, 1952, incluSive. However, it was inconclusive, inasmuch as I was looking for importations in the name of the Continental Arms Company, whereas the guns may have been imported in the name of a customs broker. the More significant are the official statistics importations from Italy, by all importers at all ports entry, of shotguns valued at more than $50.- each, as of of compiled by the Department of Commerce.
