Thatcher Lt was not until last week that we heard anything further from Vickers-Armstrongs, but in the letter which we have just received they say that the proposed revised license is entirely satisfactory. Accordingly I have had the license dated July 3, 1951 re-written incorporating the necessary changes. The re-written license is sent herewith in duplicate. We quite appreciate that no difficulty has arisen in this matter, but we feel that the matter should be clarified now that the point has arisen, We would therefore suggest that the Browning Company write a letter to yourselves and to us, to the effect that the license granted to you on the 7th July 1924 and the 17th July 1926 is deemed to be an exclusive license in the manner set out in our Agreement of 17th October 1928 and Vickers' Leth November request as OQ 1928." above indicated seems to be a reasonable one and it is our suggestion that the Browning Company address a letter to Vickers, with copy to us, stating that the said licenses of July 7, 1924 and July 17, 1926 were intended to be exclusive licenses "and were intended to authorize Colt's to grant exclusive sub-licen ises to Sir W.
