October Introduction Browning Browning 21, 1954 We propose to announce the Double Automatic as soon as enough guns are available providing the samples you have sent by air and in the October 8 shipment are satisfactory. None of these has arrived as yet. When this gun is announced, we should have some spare parts, and I would like you to make up a list from your experience of the parts we should have on hand. For example, I would suggest about 100 firing pins with springs, 200 extractors with springs and pins, 200 locking block latches, 200 sears, 200 disconnectors with spring and plunger, 50 breechblocks, 50 locking blocks, 25 hammers, 50 hammer springs and plungers, 100 sear pins, 25 complete trigger guard mechanisms, 100 each of trigger guard retainer pins, 25 each of steel and lightweight receivers with both tubes attached, 10 recoil spring guide tubes, 10 recoil spring tubes, and so forth through the list which you can make up from your experience. There should be some of every part in the gun. I think there should be at least 200 stocks and 200 forends. These spare parts should be sent as soon as ever posSible. On the price list which you sent the spare barrels are priced at exactly the Same as the old automatic barrels. I hope you can get this price reduced and put the difference on to some other part or parts, because I anticipate a profitable business in barrels. Also, we will want plenty of spare barrels, and I think Harm Williams is making up a list if he has not already done so. We should have about 100 barrel extensions in our spare parts at least.
