Show 30 WEBER ACADEMY, OGDEN, UTAH H. C. P. ClubAll third and fourth year girls are eligible. The object of the club is to promote an interest in literature and to aid in social advancement. The society has an elegantly fitted club-room on the second floor of the new building. Rose-bud SororityThe girls of the first and second years are eligible to membership. Its purpose is similar to that of the H. C. P. Club, and is likewise provided with a Sorority room. Students' Expenses Tuition is free. An entrance fee of ten dollars, payable in advance, is charged all students. Laboratory fees: Chemistry...................$2.00 Physics...................... 2.00 Domestic Science............. 2.00 Manual Training.............. 2.00 Zoology...................... 2.00 Biology...................... 2.00 Students pursuing the Commercial courses will be charged ten dollars a year extra. A fee of three dollars will be charged for the diploma issued by the Academy for the completion of any of the four-year courses. These fees in all cases must be paid in advance. All the students of the Academy are held responsible for any injury done by them to its property. Board and lodging can be obtained at from three to five dollars per week. By students' renting rooms and boarding themselves these expenses may be reduced. WEBER ACADEMY, OGDEN, UTAH 31 Admission The Academy is open to students of both sexes and of all nationalities and religious denominations. Candidates for admission must be of good moral character, and signify their intention to keep themselves in harmony with the spirit and teachings of the institution. Students are admitted at any time, but it is to their advantage to enter at the beginning of the academic year. The entrance requirements may be satisfied by the presentation of certificates, or by examination as follows: (a) Admission on certificate. Students presenting a certificate of graduation from the eighth grade of the public schools will be admitted without examination to any of the Academic courses. Students beyond public school age who are deficient in some of the studies of the grades will be given special consideration. No student pursuing any of the higher courses shall be permitted to register for more than twenty or fewer than fifteen hours per week, nor shall changes in registration be granted, except by special vote of the faculty. (b) Applicants for admission to the Preparatory course must present, to the committee on credentials and entrance examinations, satisfactory evidence of their promotion from the seventh grade of the public schools, or pass an examination in the studies of said grade. (c) Applicants for admission to the Missionary course must present a call signed by the First Presidency of the Church. A recommend from the bishop of the ward will be accepted until the letter from the Church can be obtained. |
