Show Dear Ed:I was very pleased to receive your letter of September 26th and discouraged only by the news that you have no present plans to be here on the west coast.It goes without saying that I was both pleased and complimented to be elected as president of the company, and I will do my best to see that this is an action that neither the stockholders nor the directors have reason to regret. The work here has had its trials and tribulations but it has also brought a very special sense of satisfaction stemming from the feeling that I had some part in bringing about the success that has been achieved. This is particularly so when one shares the benefits personally and with members of a family that are as close as ours.I am still striving to find time for this year's vacation, which seems to be a fringe benefit that should come with the new office.
