Terrain included the barren Airzona desert country and the bare, rocky mountains of the Globe-Miami area. The relocation skirts San Carlos Reservoir and generally follows the Gila River between Calva and Peridot. The amount of the contract was $656,000. The North Platte Railroad Branch in Nebraska for the Union Pacific Railroad Company in the amount of $840, 000. 1929 Gibson Dam - Located on the north fork of the Sun River near the city of Augusta, Montana, this project was completed in 1929. It is a concrete arch type dam with a structural height of 199 feet and a crest length of 960 feet. The volume content of the dam is 167,530 cubic yards. The reservoir name is Gibson also and it has a capacity of 105, 000 acre-feet. The purpose for building the dam was irrigation. The. owner of the pro- ject is the Bureau of Reclamation and the project was engineered by them also. Approximate cost of this project was $1, 488, 500. Syphons and the North Branch Canal for the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation at Yakima, Washington, in the amount of $136,000. Railroad and highway construction around Echo Reservoir in Utah. This work was for the Bureau of Reclamation and amounted to $440,000.
