Once there was a Sophomore class, All so freshly blooming; Filled with pride and flatteries old, Greatly moved by motives bold, Everything presuming. E'en a party they did hold Where the girls learn sewing. "Come," they said, "tonight we start On our first great booming; You bring pickles, forks and bread; Ask your girl to day," they said. Thus their frenzy fuming, Oh, the task of sorting. Decorations were in red, All their pride thus looming. Woe to them their flag they raised, Teachers' love consuming. "Sophomores," said the Principal, "Come that flag of yours must fall, You're too much assuming." Back the sophomores did crawl Vanished all their blooming. A Junior. |
