Show ORGANIZATIONS Public Service Bureau It's a "cinch" you can't do anything" unless you try. But it is a "dead cinch" that you can if you do try. When the program committee of the Public Service Bureau asks the students of the school to assist in the rendering of a program, nine out of every ten, by count, say, "I can't do anything." You sure can. Moreover, you can do something that no one else can do. You are all born with a certain degrees of originality, which if developed can make you one of those fellows who can do new things. Get busy, it is in you. Abraham Lincoln said, "I will study and get ready and maybe my time will come." Well, if you study and get ready it is a sure thing that your time will come, because by the aid of the Public Service Bureau you will be given an opportunity to show what you can do, and thus your time will be here. Again I say, "Get busy, it is in you." So now let's do away with the phrase that is holding you down and say, "I can do something" I am sure." German Club See, didn't we tell you we'd start things? We did, too. The Germans all met two weeks ago and enjoyed a very pleasant evening. We danced, did the Kaiser-step, drilled, played games, and last, but not least, had dainty refreshments. But how soon our joy is to be turned to sorrow by the loss of our dear Emperor Dixon, who leaves shortly to study in the East. We sincerely wish him all the success possible and will look longingly forward to his return next year. "Gluck auf, Brudder Dixon." The season is now here. Every man in school must come to the aid of Weber. Our prospects are excellent for a championship team this year, and with the loyal support of every student, we will land the state pennant. Of our squad last year, we have Nixon, Wilkinson, Bassett, Marshall and V. Critchlow. This year the Northern division meet will be held at Logan, so now is your chance to get in and make a mark for yourself. We have the material. Why not make use of it? In the past years very little interest has been manifested in this line of sport, but this year something has got to happen. We have a very conscientious bunch of workers left from last year, namely Nixon, Sorenson, Bassett, Wilkinson, Telford and Cordon. Basketball On February 11th, Weber journeyed to Hyrum and on the 12th to Richmond, and succeeded in trimming both of these teams. The scores were: S. C. H. S. vs. Weber 28-31. N. C. H. S. vs. Weber 20-34. We feel very sad over our defeat on February 24th, on our own floor, by the Davis High School, but it was due to too much "beef." Nevertheless they earned what they received. The score was 31-24 in their favor. Well, our "friends up the street" will have to wait till next time before they can slip one over on us in basketball. Our players literally swamped them, the score being 28 to 15. As a reward for our diligent work in basketball we won second place in the Northern division. The standing of the teams follow: Won.
