She has never been aware of any ambitions other than those connected with dramatics, although she probably will continue throughout school to major in English with the view of becoming an instructor. Genuineness of character, tenacity of purpose, loyalty, broadness of mind, and ambition are her outstanding points. So ambitious is she in fact that budgeting of her time to include all her activities leaves no time for the following of any hobby which is perhaps as it should be she "wouldn't know what to do with it." She won first place in the U. I. Extemporaneous Contest, carried a lead in the "Admirable Crichton," was connected with Scribulus magazine as essay editor, is assistant editor on Acorn staff, plays piano and pipe-organ, and writes in her spare time. Her accomplishments have won for her the Thompson Memorial scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley. Decidedly creative likes to sew (makes all her own clothes), but detests mending. Outward appearances are not always analogous to inner capabilities. Student administration under his leadership has not been of the spectacular vociferous type, yet progress has been made; real lasting changes for the better without the usual self-declamation of those responsible for them have resulted from the guiding of this quiet purposeful leader. His first concern throughout the year has been student welfare to bring students to a more open-minded and understanding basis, to make student life at Weber more democratic and enjoyable. In this he has enjoyed no little amount of success. His personal interests in studies are centered around medicine and psychology, with social science added for zest. Originally wanted to be a cowboy but gradually "grew out of" that desire. Goes for tennis, basketball, swimming, ice cream, an occasional glass of beer, and pleasant varieties at meal time. Pet aversion: waiting for tennis courts. Women are no matter with him but he doesn't mind having them around. Continued on Page 21 |
