Show It's been a mighty long, long time but the flavor of a fine scoring play is still mighty, mighty sweet. From left are Hunt (43), Bridges (51), Miller (in coat), Howes (giving them a hand), Harrop (52), Blankenship (17), who display dentures as Wildcats go across. Cologna (34) is in on the assist, but Lowder is. down after attempting to block and missing. Opponents are Oregon Tech. 20 Coach Milt is not woofing here and you can say that a couple of times again. Whether or not Jim Andrews is drinking it up is another guess. Plainly good old iron man Jim was jumbled. In addition to Coach giving the quarterback the "sich", offensives waiting to take over are from left Crompton, Peterson, Barnes and Loosli, far right. Been a bad night for lightfooted Gary, too. Many fine things can be said about individual players. In fact, picking any out for individual mention could be unfair. George Taylor and speedy Don Shaw were frequently mentioned by the observers and announcers of the games for their yeomanlike service. Ron Lowder played an excellent game from fullback position. He was responsible for breaking up many of the opposing team's running plays. Gary Loosli was a hard man to stop when carrying the ball, and his running ability accounted for a sizable amount of yards gained from the scrimmage department. Max Cologna, from the left guard position, through many savage blocks opened holes for our runners to go through. Pete Miller, hard playing center, had not played much football until this year, but gave a fine account of himself and saw much action. The offensive team was usually composed of George Taylor and Daurel Barnes, ends; Jack Brown and Gary Crompton, tackles; Max Cologna and Dick Brown, guards; either Pete Miller or Guy Peterson, centers; Jack Andrews or Sonny Freston, quarterbacks; Gary Loosli, Don Shaw, Bill Lacey, Gary Belnap, Dick White and Jim Swenson, halfbacks; Tony Toscan or Ron Lowder or Tom Kerns, fullbacks. Composing the defensive team were Russell Whitaker and Von Larson, ends; Jack Howes, Ray Lewis or Darrell Taylor, tackles; Glen Bridges and Ken Kuriowa or Wayne Barlow, guards; Ron Lowder, Tony Toscan, Jim Swenson, Dick White, Wayman Cash and Tom Kerns, halfbacks. In spite of losses, Weber had many fine periods of football. Students and other spectators were thrilled frequently by lightning plays and long runs that took the Cats to touchdowns.
